MAKE A NOTE OF IT.
r. t, •' For fruit stains dip the spots several times in hot milk. Leaks about chimneys may be stopped by a cement of coal ta# and saqd neatly applied. Keep flowers fresh by putting a pinch of soda in the water. Boil the clothes limS and it will not “kink,” as a new rope is apt to do. Keep a small bbx filled with lime in your pantry ajnd cellar it will keep thq air dry and pure. Soda is the best thing fcnr cleaning tinware. Apply with a damp cloth and rub well, then wipe dry. To mend large holes in socks or in merino underwear, tack a piece of strong net over and darn through it. The darn will be stronger and neater than without it. To clean a stove zinc or zinc lined bath tub, mix ammonia and whiting to a smooth paste, apply it to the zinc, and let it dry. Then rub it off until no dust remains. A teaspoonful of alum will make clear four gallons of muddy Water. Boiling the water is necessary to remove disease germs when a farm pump or town reservoir has a bad name. ‘hWH 1
