REMINGTON ITEMS.
Children’s day will be observed with an interesting programme in the Methodist church next Sunday. The evening service will be conducted by the children of the Sunday Schpol. Mrs. W« B. Price and daughter Hblen, of Hartford City are visiting parents ana friends in this place and vicinity. * f Miss Ntttie- Price, who has been teaching in the. University in Montgomery, Ala., arrived home last Saturday morning. Mrs. M. Solomon, of Chicago, and Capt. J. B. Shaw, of Lafayette, are visUing at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Shaw. Mr? Frank Timmons, wife and son, of Tampa, Florida, arrived last Thui sday, for a visit of indefinite length. Mr. Timmons has been in Florida nearly eight years, and this is his wife’s first visit in any northern state. Mrs. W. O. Roadifer was summoned to the far away stati? of Idaho, by a telegram announcing the serious sickness of a married daughter, whose home was in that state. Mrs. Roadifer started at once but the mother’s gr\ef may be imagined when she found her daughter dead upon her arrival. / A report is in circulation that Miss Libbie Kenyon, well and most favorably known in this place, was married in Englewood, 111., May 30th, to the senior member of the prosperous firm of Warner and Redfield, by whom the bride has been employed as bookkeeper for the past five Knowing her well we congratulate f Mr. Warner on his good luck in having secured such an excellent companion.
Mr, Mudge, whose sickness has jeen mentioned from time to time, is still living at this date (Tuesday morning) but his death is expected at any time. . A reception was given to Mr. Jesse D. Allman and his fair bride on Saturday evening by his partner in business Mr. Hallett Sheetz and his amiable wife. About thirty invited guests were present and enjoyed a most delightful evening. r - . Mrs. Vanatta, of Rensselaer, is visiting the family of her son-in-law, Rev. S. V. McKee in this place. Prof. Dickerson gave the W. C. T. U. a most interesting drill in parlimentary rules last Saturday afternoon. The professor is at home on those subjects. The town board elected two school trustees at their first meeting this month which was last Friday. The two gentlemen chosen for this responsible position are Messrs. C. E. Harlacher and J. E. Stiller.
