The Circuit Court.
James H. Little adopted Bessie Helms, four years old, with written consent of father. Child given the name of Bessie Little. Elizabeth C. Ellis was granted a divorce from James F. Ellis, of Remington. The grounds alleged are cruel treatment, such as refusing to get her medicine when sick, sljiking and threatening her, <fcc. There are no children, and no alimony was asked for. <u[ '.. Wm. Com acknowledged the Com, on the charge of gambling, and paid 15 fine and costs. Total $28.65. Dallas Nichols and Wm. Piatt each was fined $5 and costs, for disturbing a religious meeting. Total sl4 each. Paid. The case against Sherman Cooper, charged with larceny, was contmued to October term. S. P. Thompson bailor. The township trustees met to make their quarterly reports to the County Superintendent, Monday, of the number of school books sold, aad to make requisitions for the ensuing quarter. It was also the day for making their tax levies for the year.
