The most notable exception to the rule was a big red-faced fellow who sauntered about the promenade deck without showing the slightest inconvenience from the ship’s motion," I crawled meekly up to filth and asked how it happened that he took things so easy while all the rest of us were tugging at our very boots. I asked him what ne took to keep his stomach normal. He said: “Oh. that’s easy enough. I was a conductor on the P- D. Q. & R. railroad for twenty years.” J
