RHODE ISLAND ELECTION.
The Republicans Carry the Legislature and the State. The Rhode Island State eipction occurred on the 6th and was fought as sow Lave been before it. Both parties brought into the State their best talent—Rated, McKinley, If arrows and men of such high reputation for tho Republicans, and exPresident Cleveland and ex-Governor Campbell and others little less prominent for the Democrats. The result is a victory for the Republicans, though only to the extent that former elections, with the exception of the last have been. The total vote polled was more than 46,600, the largest vote over cast in the State. The Republicans carry the Legislature and will re-elect Aidrich United States Senator. The Republican plurality on the State ticket is about 1009. Not being a majority of all the votes cast, the election of State officers is trown into the Legislature, which will elect ths Republican nominees. - ‘ Later and complete returns of the Rhod Island election elect the Republican Stat ticket, majority of all, except Treasurer and Attorney ’fjenetjil.
