Burtod, of IndjanapoUa.- V f x ' FieenerA PerMns, of Lebanon, the parties who contracted with the Board last September to examine the books and records in the various county offices, to ascertain if anything is due the county from the state or other sources, for half of what they oo collected, and whose contract was rescinded in December, for supposed illegality, appeared and convinced the Board, through a late decision of the Supreme Court, that their contract was lawful. The Board therefore rescinded their December action, and tfaeofiginal contract is restored to full effect 'y' } A very important addition was made to the county poor farm, by the purchase, f tom Alvak Leonard, of Valparaiso, of the old Lewis Daugherty place, which adjoins the county farm, on the west. The new purchase is 80 acres in extent, well improved and was bought for $3040, or S3B per acre. The terms of purchase are SIO4O cash and the balance in one and two years, with interest at 6 percent, and the county reserving the privilege of paying the whole debt, at any ...time -'t-" The expected action looking to - wards the erection of an iron sense around the public square, was taken, as will be seen from the advertisement elsewhere in this paper. The Board will hold a special meeting April 9th, to action take on the bids for the construction of the fence. One over Carpenter’s Creek, on the Range Line gravel road, just north of Remington,—The other was Tor Jordan , tp., on the county line. The contract price is $462.50, each. The new road in Gilliam tp., petitioned for by Thos. H. McCullough et al, was ordered established. < Viewers were appointed, on new road petitions, as follows: Wm.
