In Spacial Session.
The County Commissioners were in s pecial session Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. They authorized the Trustee of Keener township to incur an indebtedness of SI,OOO against the road fund, to assist in building the grades to the proposed new bridge over the Kankakee river, north of DeMotte.— Favorable action was taken in regard to a petition for straightening Carpenter’s creek, in Carpenter tp., on Mount Etna Jordan’s land, whereby it is claimed that S2OO worth of ditching will save a SIOOO worth of bridging. Cement walks in the Court house yard were contracted for, with <fe Williamson, of Logansport. They are to make a 7 foot fronf walk and a 6 foot walk to the corner, where the public well is. Also a2O foot square cement platform around the well and another platform in front Of the court house door. Also to cement the floor of the court house vestibule. The walks are to cost 19 cents per square foot and the platforms 25 cents. The entire cost will exceed S3OO. Work on the walks is already actively underway, under the management of Mr Williamson. Wednesday, the Board went to Carpenter tp. to inspect the Range Line Gravel Road, now under construction.
