Death of Addie L. Daugherty.
, Addie L. Daugherty died at Hammond last Sunday morning, of typhomalariai fever, at the age of 25 years, 7 months and 27 days. She had been sick for three weeks? She was the oldest daughter of Lewis L. Daugherty, ex-sheriff of this county, and most of her life had lived in Rensselaer or its immediate vicinity.
The remains were brought to Rensselaer for interment, Tuesday morning, and the funeral services held at Trinity M. E. church, conducted by Revs. Drake of Rensselaer and Streeter, of Hammond, and was very largely attended.. The deceased was a m ost lovely, amiable and popular girl, and her early and untimely death is sincerely mourned by very, large circles of friends, both in this her old home, and in Hammond. She was a faithful member of the M. E. ehurehy-and-of the Epworth League. She also belonged to the order of the Eastern Star, and the Rensselaer chapter of which attended her funeral in a body, and took part in the services. She also belonged to the Ladies Aid Society, the female branch of the order of Sons of Veterans.
The floral decorations at the funeral were beautiful and profuse; among the designs being a large floral harp, from the Hammond teachers; wreath from the Ladies Aid Society, and a shield from the Sons of Veterans; of Hammond. Six members of the organization last named, were the pall - ■■■ ~r • Theclcceased was born Leon, lowa, although Jasper county was the birth place of the four brothers and one sister who still survive her.
