County Institute Resolutions.
We the teachers of Jasper County with the hope of furthering the en - terest of education, offer the following resolutions to our school officials and friends of education: , akt. 1. Since the pride of Indiana will not permit her to lose the high rank in educational exhibits, Be it resolved , That the request of our State Committee of the Worlds’ Fair for each teacher to contribute live cents, and each pupil one cent, be complied with as far as possible. art. 11. Since one of the fundamental principles of the school room is to instil into the mind of the pupil patriotism. Be it resolved , That the township trustees would further its development by plaeing a flagon each school house. 2 art. 111. Since the branches taught in our district schools no nearer fit a country pupil for the the duties of life than the same branches would fit a city pupil, =s= Be it resolved. That it is the duty of the trustee to provide, as soon as possible, a school in each township in which the pupils of the township may have the advantages of a higher ebucation than that afforded in ungraded schools. art .IV. Since the township trustees have recognized that it is good that the teachers come together as h body as often as possible, and since they have agreed to allow the teachers pay for one day at the County Annual Association. Be it resolved, That this should not take the place of a township institute. art. V. Since our County Superintendent has been so zealous in*his efforts to further the interests of this institute and the interests of education in the County, Be it resolved , That we as teacher give him our unqualified support in the discharge of his duties. art. VI. Since our instructors, have contributed so much to the success of the Institute. Be it rsolved , that we extend to them our thanks.
