When the college wants to compliment a visitor, or a benefactor, or one who may become a benefactor, and cannot make anything else out of him, it can always mako him a doctor qI laws. He may be a land speculator, or may have invented a cocking stove, or may be proficient in cuniform inscriptions, or may have found an asteroid, or may have put up a new brand of tobacco—it does not matter, LL.
