The circus and menagerie in town last Monday was extensively patronized, the tent being crowded during the evening performance. It was said to have been about on a par with other traveling shows of the kind. The balloon ascension drew a great throng of people up in the neighborhood ot the tent. There were between sixty and seventy persons connected with the show, augmented by the addition of a wee specimen of humanity, on Sunday evening,- at tbe Hart House. Rev. J. L. Greenway occupied the pulpit of the M. E. church last Sunday evening. His many friends were glad to hear him preach once more. The DePauw Quartette gave their entertainment as advertised and it was successful in every particular. In addition to the very excellent music Mr. Hough gave some recitations and character delineations that fairly brought down the house. Our citizens will be glad to know that Mr. Hough will return some time next month and assist the Willing Workers in giving an entertainment. The premium lists for the forthcoming Fair have been received. But few changes were noticed "during a very brief examination of the book; the one that will interest the exhibitors in the Floral Hall, is the substitution of Mrs. A. A. Steams and Mrs. M. G. Traugh for Mrs. Wilcox and Mrs. Burger. A runaway team last Sunday evening, caused the dislocation of a wrist aud some bad bruises for a lady and gentleman from Goodland, whose names were not ascertained.
Key. J. B. Crowe and wife, of In- J dian Territory, will visit the family of Dr. D. H. Pattern this week. Dickerson they have added materially to their store of knowledge, during the past few weeks.--Mr. and Mrs. Mark Foresman, of Foresman, will leave next month for their new home m Idaho. During her short residence in Remington Mrs. Foresman, as Miss Cora Sunderland, made many friends who will wish for the young couple much happiness and prosperity. Elder Carpenter, of Wabash, held several interesting meetings in the Christian church, beginning on Saturday evening. His special work is among the the young, in the interest of the Sabbath School. Miss Minnie Walker, eldest daughter of our worthy post master, is visiting her brothers, in Chicago. * Rekingtonian. A nice line of Ladies’ notions at Lecklider’s.
