ADDITIONAL LOCALS.
The Presbyterian Sunday School had a big and very pleasant piense yesterday morning, at Nagles’ grove. t - Mrs. John Zimmerman and daughter Cora, have gone to Ohio, to visit relatives.. A nice line of Ladies’ notions' at Lecklider’s. The Board of Review resumed their work of equalizing assessments yesterday morning,[after an adjourhment since last Friday. : Mrs. Lucy Clark, Hying north, of town, got a fall Monday evening and received injuries to her hip that will be likely to confine her to her bed, for a considerable time. New K.of P. officers were installed Tuesday evening, as follows; J. P. Hammond, C. C.; Frank Osborne, V. C.; W. C. Babcock, Prelate, J. H. Rossbaeher, Inner Guard;, Chas. Robinson. Outer Guard 1 ;* J, H. Chapman, Master at Anns. Wm. Beck, the well known sexton of Weston cemetery, was 71 years old last Saturday, and a large number of his friends commemorated the i-... occasion by a surprise party and dinner. Mr. Beck has been a much esteemed resident of this vicinity for about 31 years.
Our old friend, Uncle George Kessler, of Barkley Tp., met with a bad accident Monday evening. He was helping fell a tree, and by some means, a large limb fell upon him. His head was badly cut, and his chest much bruised. The force of the blow rend ered him unconscious for an hour. The seriousness of the injury is increased by Mr. Kessler’s advanced age, over 77 years. Dr. Alter, of Rensselaer, is attending the case. O. S. Dale, of Rensselaer, was in the city a part of this week. Mr. Dale has a little daughter six years old that is a prodigy on the piano. Her executions on this instrument is marvelous. She has never been taught but takes up the work herself. Tuesday evening she entertained a company of music lovers at Mr. Copeland’s. Wednesday evening, again she delighted a crowd at the Arlingl on parlors. Mr. Dale has entered into a contract with Howard Steininger. the father of the “Hoosier Boy Orator,” to have the two prodigies travel together. They will commence the first of October and their trial trip will last three months. The boy has been a remarkably drawing card. The two combined ought to give a first-class entertainment.— Rochester Tribune.
