They traveled South, and there they sat on a hotel veranda The Lewiston man bowed coldly to a lady who passed them hanging on the arm of a gentleman. Curiously enough, his wife also bowed to the couple. Sa'd she: “To whom did yon bow?” “To the ladv. said the Lewiston man. with a flush. “She was once jny wife. To whom did you bow? Did vou know her?” “No,” said she. “1 bowed to the gentleman. I had the misfortune once to know him intimately. He was my husband." And this was their wedding jour ney.
