Rudolph F. Sigel, the favorite son of Gen. Francis.Sigel has been adjudged insane by the Supreme Court of New York. He is 32 years old, a civil engineer and married. It is said that thirteen members of the United States Senate are natives of New York. Ohio comes next with eight, while Pennsylvania and Kentucky have six each. Miss Margaret Mather , the actress; whose manager next season will be Joseph D. Levy, is on her way to Europe. One of her objects in going abroad is to secure a new play. The freshman class at Princeton is denorning itself, so to speak, and getting ready to be Quaker sophomores. It has passed strong resolutions condemning hazing next year. The pay-roll of the servants alone of George W. Childs' country place at Bryn Mawr amounts to SI,OOO a month. This is said to be the finest country residence in the United States. Charles Dudley Warner, who is now in Rome, writes his friends that after the recent explosion there was not enough glass in the city to supply the place of what was broken in the shock. An old apple woman known as “Kitty” has just died in London at the age of 104. She kept a little stand near St. James Hall, where she often sold candy’' l to Lord Nelson and apples to Pitt and Fqx. John Bullough, the Scottish millionaire who died recently, was the husband of Sheila, the heroine of William Black’s novel, “A Princese of Thule. - ’ She was a daughter of a Stornaway broker.
