The Dimensions of the Coming Fiurth of July in Rensselaer. Preparations for a big celebrations in Rensselaer are fairly booming, and features are already assured that will make it one of the most successful ever held in the county. The feature of all features, and one of the most interesting and thrilling human eyes ever look upon, will bCff balloon ascension and PARACHUTE LEAP. This is a spectacle that has never been witnessed in Jasper county, nor hardly in northwestern Indiana. It is a sight that people travel scores of miles to see. Tie cash, which is the sinews of celebrations as well as of war,'is secured. Up to Monday night, after ; less than one day’s canvassing, very | nearly S3OO was secured, and plen- ! ty more to be had for the asking.

Judge Chase, of Logansport, one of the ablest oratora in northern Indlkna will deliver the principal oration. Simon Phillips, with his striking presence and stentorian voice, has wisely been chosen marshal of the day. Among the additional features secured or in sight are a first class game of ball, for a liberal purse, between the first nine of the Indian School and some other good club; good foot racing and other games, for liberal purses. Remember, the policy of faithfully carrying out all advertised promises will be rigidly adhered to. Messrs. F. B. Meyer, J. 11. S. Ellis and A. H. Hopkins are the committee of arrangements, with! powers to appoint sub-committees, and ihake all other necessary arrangements.
