The great Quebec organ, that has 5.772 pipes, is played by an organist who claims to own 2,775 pipes, only his are usGd-for smoking tobacco. His collection is one of the finest in the world. A Corry, Pa., lady, injured by a fall due to a poor sidewalk, offered to settle her suit against the city for S2OO, but the city officials insisted on the case going into court, and the lady won a $2,500 verdict. A woman who died at Mount Holly, N. J., on Thursday, had been confined to her bed for more than thirty years and had been attended by a physician every day of her illness. He therefore made over 10,950 visits, which is probably an unparalleled record. Boston papers show that fifty-seven corporations in Fall River, with an aggregate of $18,000,000 capital, have earned during the year less than two per cent., and in many instances nothing at all, and argue that labor has received its full share of compensation. One maa finds satisfaction in the thought that he is as good as ethers, and another in the knowledge that others are no better than he is.
