Dads in a Dead-lock.
Our usually mild and complaisant Town Concihaen locked horns last Friday evening at their special meeting, and were entirely unable to agree upon a member of the Board for the Third district to succeed Capt. J. M. Wasson, who has removed. Fifty-nine ballots were taken and then President Kannal declared an adjournment until next Monday evening. On the first ballot there were two Votes for Frank Wolfe and one each or C. W. Coen and J. W- Williams. On every subsequent ballot Wolfe’s 2 men stayed with him, first last and all the time, without changing or a shadow of changing, but the other two votes skirmished about until one or more votes were cast for about every able bodied “white male inhabitant in the district, over the age of 21 years and able to write their names without a mark,—and perphaps even for some that couldn’t do that well—for party lines were not always strictly observed in this indiscriminate balloting.
