GOOD MOVE OS THE LIGHT QUESTION.
Other Town Board Matters. The Town Board Monday night wisely decided to continue and extend the present street lighting system. Four new arc lights will be added to the two already in service, and wtmrimsr"6F * str igeandesceiity will be retained, those which are now in such positions as to be made unnecessary by the new arc lights, will be removed to some remoter portions of the town, now unlighted. Of the four new arcs, one will probably be located at the crossing of Washington and Division streets, near Henry Harris’ place; another at the crossing of Division and Susan streets, near the Catholic church; another at:the crossing of Van Rensselaer and Susan Streets, by the Christian clinrch; and the other at some point to be decided upon, perliaps on Front street, near G. H. Brown's place. The cost of all these lights is to be $lO6 per month. The light company will enlarge and repair their facilities and demonstrate their ability to produce first class lights, before the contract is closed. The Boaad divided the town into two election districts, as the new law requires, publication of which action will be made later. J. M. Wasson, councilman from the Second district, tendered his resignation, being about to remove to another part of town. The Board will hold a special meting Friday evening, to appoint a successor to Mr. Wasson, to hold until the May election. The proprietors of the brick livery stable, were ordered to remove the stairway which obstructs the Washington street side walk, adjacent to that building. The Clerk was ordered to prepare a delinquent tax list, immediately.
