Detroit Free Press. At eleven o’clock the other night a minister was called upon to perform the marriage ceremony for a middleage*couple,each of whom had probably been married before. He asked if they had the license, and the man replied: “License, no! What about a license?" “You must have one.” “Where do I get it” “At the County Clerk’s office,but it’s too late to-night.” “Theb I won’t marry him at all!” .said the woman. “Who wants you to!” he demanded. “A man who ia fool enough to forget the license, can’t marry me.” “You go on! 1 wouldn’t have you If you were the last woman on earth!” “My friends you can got a license tomorrow,” said the minister. “I don't want one.” said the man. “And I’m sure I don’t ” added the woman, and they withdr. w and walked off in different directions.
