Rev. J. H. Worrell visited Lafayette last Thursday. % Miss Laura Parks visited the fa mily of Mr. Kenyon, at Fowler, last week. Mr. Dibell who has been seriously sick for the past few weeks, is slowly recovering. Mr 8. E. Hollingsworth left on Saturday for a visit of several weeks with her son Will, and family, in Ellsworth, 111. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Hollett left on Saturday for a few days visit with relatives and friends in Valvaraiao. izzrzi—_ Mrs. Fuller of this place is dangerously sick, in fact her condition is sueh that there is no hope of her recovery. Mrs. Robert Love returned last Friday from a visit of several weeks with parents and friends in Kankakee, 111. Mr. Will F. Butler a former P,emingtonian, spent Sunday in Remington. He is a traveling salesman for a large drug firm. Miss Orpha Timmons has been quite sick for several days and the pupils of No. 9, are Having a vacation. She expects to be able to resume her work in a few days. The workmen at the sand quarry struck a new deposit last week, the rock looking exactly like that of which grind-stones are made. A car load of it was shipped to Kokomo for inspection.
Hon. Robert Parker and his nephew, Fred Burger, left on Monday morning for Denver, Col., where the latter expects to go into “the real estate and insurance business with his uncle, Chas. Black. There will be a concert given by the M. E. S. S. next Sunday evening to which the public is invited. The singing will be done by the and their singing is always sweet. A valuable colt belonging to Mr. Hugh Roberts was badly injured by a wire fence several days ago and although the best veterinary skill was procured for it, it died last Thursday. _ There are two flourishing religious organizations for young people, in our village, the Society of Christian Endeavor in the Christian church with Miss M. Johnson as president, and Miss Ophelia Lees as secretary, and the Epworth League in the M. E. church with Miss Hattie B. Chappell as president and Miss Alice Hollingsworth, secretary. Mrs. Chas. Bonner after a pleasant visit, with her daughter in Chicago, returned home last Thursday. She was accompanied by her daughter. Mrs. Reeve and her two children, of Silver City, lowa. Mrs. Reeve was formerly Miss Mariah Bonner, a well known and successful teacher in this township.
