IT WILL TAKE UNTIL 2115.
Temperance Evangelist. Fairfield's Leaflet, by far the ablest Prohibition paper in the State, says: “The Prohibition party is not a raw, undisciplined army of fresh recruits upon the field of reform, but a thoroughly disciplined body of voters who have had many years' practice.” That is just what's the matter. It has been twenty years or more a drilling and a voting, and at the late presidential electron it east less than 3 per cent, of the votes cast at that election, and it did not cast near as many as it did two years before that, and most of the elections of 1 889 and *9O show a continued falling off. Now, as we cypher, it will take to about the year 2115 to get the.Jal. .per—-cent- necessary- to earry Prbhibffion. We can t afford to stay on these low grounds a hundred years or more to see Prohibition. Let us have it through some other means. In these twenty years the non-partisan method has given us prohibition in seven States. Turn your well-drilled and well-officered army out to grass and take prohibition with undrilled men. A standing army is a poor excuse if discipline and practice is all it can boast of. It takes bullets and bal* lots to count, and you have very few ballots.
