It was our pleasure to be in Rensselaer last week on the occasion of the re-nomination of the Hon. W. D. Owen for a fourth time, as candidate for the suffrage of the people of the 10th district for congress. Billy as his old friends of Benton are wont to call him, was looking well, in good form and acquired himself nobly in delivering one of the best speeches we have heard for many a day. The intellectual bearing and personal of the delegates was yejry marked. If the enthusiasm prevading the cnvention can be taken as an index of that 01 the district, his election is a foregone conclusion: —Fowler Era.
