REUNITED AFTER FORTY YEARS.
Forty years ago Hiram Gregg, eight years old, disappeared from the home of his parents at Elmira, N. Y. Search was instituted and kept up for several months but without result. The parents removed to the West some time afterward, and finally settled near Moline, 111. Tuesday a man of forty-eight appeared at the Gregg homestead, and announced himself as the boy who disappeared forty years ago. AcĀ» cording to his story, he was stolen by Gypsies, who took him to Wisconsin. He was cruelly used by his captors, and oftentimes had been beaten and threatened with death. About fifteen ycarg ago Hiram married, mid his Gypsy foster mother disappeared. Hiram and his wife took up their residence at Richardson, Oak county, Wisconsin, where they lived until a mysterious communication was received by Hiram, telling him his real name, and that hie mother was living near Moline. This led to an investigation, which resulted in the meeting. It is presumod that the let* ter was written by one of the Gypsies in a fit of remorse. Henry Henschy was arrested as he landed from La Normandie fresh from Paris with a lot of diamonds sent by How * ell Osbornq, a New York clubman, as a present to Fay Templeton, the actress Hensohy is charged with smuggling. Three large and valuable Norman horses belonging to Adelbert Walker, a farmer, thing in Miami township, Cass county, died Monday from poisoning administered by unknown hands. They ware rained at 050 each.
