Bad Accident in Gillam Township.
1 •• ? - **■ - ■ . ■ On Sunday Aug. 10th, Preston Pullens and Ben. Turner, of Gillatn Tp. started to hunt squirrels. When near Mr. Law’s they both climbed a tree taking a loaded gun with them. When about thirty feet from the ground a limb broke, precipitating both to the ground. Mr Turner struck the ground first, Mr. Pullens falling on him. Turner, is badly hurt internally and is in a dangerous condition. PullenaJias a leg broken just above the knee, but it is thought is not injured otherwise. The accident oecured at 0 o’clock a. m. and their call for help was not heard nntil 1 p. m., when Mr. Law heard and went to them. Neighbors and Dr. H. G. Jones, of Medaryville, were hastily summoned and the boys were attended to as well as could be done. Mrs! A. Pullens, mother of the injured boy, hearing of the accident started in a carriage to the scene. When driving through the gate the carriage was over-turned and its occupant thrown to the ground. Mrs. Pullens fell heavily and sustained serious injuries about the chest, the extent of which has not 3 T et been ascertained at the time of our report.
