B. F. Priest Burned Out.
Our former well known townsman,' JR. F. Priest, but. more recently a | prosperous grocery and meat mer- | chant in Chicago, met. with a very serious misfortune last Sunday night. His grocery store, meat shop and barn, with all their contents, were burned. The fire was started in the bam in rear of the store, by a little child playing with matches. The child-belonged -to-*~4amity living
over Mr. Priest’s store, and the child itself perished in .toe flames. Mr. Priest also lost a good horse in the fire; one that he bought of John Paxton in Rensselaer a week or two previous. Mr. Priest’s loss on stock was about $2,000, half covered by insurance. His loss by the destruction of his business, whether temporary or permanent, will be great, perhaps greater than his direct loss from the fire.
