Kenoyer for Olerk of tiie circmf (Jourt, Marion (3. Coover for Auditor, 8. A. Martindale for 1 ’-easurer,- J. W. Randle for sheiiff i Lockwood for -Surveyor, W. A Grniii y for Coroner, E. E. Parsons; Commissioner 3rd district Mnxy Carpenter for 2nd district. The convention was called to Order in the grove near the depot by Couuty Chairman \Y. W. The conventiaii4h,en selected the following delegates to the State convention.
Delegates: J. A. DeWolf, I. W. Bemenderfer, J. W. S. Ulrey, C. H. Stucker, Jerry Dodson, Pierce Drake, J. F. Johnson, E. Hess, J. F. Nichols, C. E. Ross, B. Light. | And the following deiegates to Congressional convention: Delegates: J. V. Dodson, J. F. Nichols, Am as Agate, F. D. Gilman, N. C. Wickwire, S. A. Bramble. D. M.Graves. J. W. Tanner, Jacob Hess, 1. W. Burton, Pierce Archibald, W. T. McCarty. Alternates: J. G. Davis, A. J. Brenner, J. B. Foresman, Z. F. Little, James Carney. Isaac Smart, H. H. McClain Joseph White E. Parsons, John Cox, John Whaley, B. F. McClatchy. The committee on peimanent organization reported by recom--mendiug Hon. J. F. Johnson for permanent chairman, S. A. Bramble for Secretary, J. G. Davis asaistant secretary. The report of both committees were adopted. Nomination being in order the liame of Wf H. Kenoyer was presented for Clerk of the Circuit Court and he was nominated by 15 ehiinittidn. Marion C. Coover was renominated for Auditor by acclamation. For Treasurer the names of Samuel A. Martindale and George B. Smith, were presented. Mr. Martindale receiving a majority of the votes lie was declared !lio ! min ee. The vote.was for Mari.u----j dale 96, Smith 33/ I John W. Randle was re-noniin-ated by acclamation b-r Sheriff. The ticket is A. No. i from top to bottom and it is a matter of congratulation to the voters of Newton county. As citizens there are none better in the county, each and every.one being men of known intergrity and possessing noble ! and irue manhood. Messrs.
