IN MR. OWEN’S DISTRICT.
Rochester, jxd .June 18. Special Telegram—Chicago Inter Ocean. The BepupSieens of this (JFulton) county have just selected delegates for the congressional convention- of the Tenth District, and as this is the first delegation to be organized in the district the proceedings have been watched with considerable interest. The Hon. W. D. Owen Kris served the district in an efficient and satsifactory manner during the past six years,and he is immensely popular with the rank and file of the party. It is conceded that he bias acted fairly with all applicants for offices, that he made no promise that bus not fulfilled, and that be has ever treated bis constituent in an honest and courteous manner, yet there are disappointed office-seekers within the district who will use -every means in. their power to prevent his rpnonn nation. It is difficult to predict io wlmt extent this opposition wilt manifest itself, but ;:s there .are no other active candidates in the field, it is hoped by Mr. Owen’s friends that they will secure his nomination, ou first ballot. He will secure the Fulton county delegation with one or two -exceptions, as a portion of the townships instructed their delegates to support him, raid the uctife workers of the party in this country are his enthusiastic admirers.
