Hurrahing for Hammond
Boswell Argus. Glory to God. Hammond will be our next Judge, and the Argus feels proud and rejoices to know that it was the first paper in this Judicial district that espoused the Judge’s cause, and is highly pleased to learn that this gentleman has, though somewhat reluctant about doing so, consented to let his name go before the nominating convention. He is evidently the man the people want and intend to hav<N and none other will suffice. He will, we predict, be nominated on the first ballot. Hurrah for Hammond Goodland Herald: Elsewhere Appears an article from the Rensselaer Republican .announcing E. P. Hammond as a candidate for judge. It has always lx?en claimed that the judge did not want the position, but now that lie asked for it there is little doubt but wiiat he will get it. No man in the district has the esteem and confidence of the people to a greater extent than Judge Hammond, and the announcement of his determination to be a candidate for re-election to the position which he filled so long and acceptably, will be gratifying news to everbody.
