CIRCUIT COURT NOTES.

Owing to tiie very light docket in the present term, Judge Ward had ' nothing to do in our court the latter ■ part of last week and therefore went; •over to Logansport on Thursday and held court for Judge McConnell. He dried two cases there, disposed of ’ several others and still has a large : number to try, when he has leisure. The grand jury was finally discharged Tuesday morning. In all they returned six indictments and also a long report on the poor-farm management. The pettit jury was called Monday but has tried only one case. ■ John Masterson by a jury, Tuesday afternoon, on the charge of fornication, and was found guilty and sentenced to 25 days in jail and a fine of sl. Court adjourned yesterday until next Monday. Miss Lizzie L. Williams, the stenographic reporter came over from Fowler on Monday, but has only been called upon to report one case, thus far during the term.
