SENATOR BRICE, OF OHIO.
The Ohio Democratic caucus Thursday pight nominated Calvin S. Brico for United States Senator on the second ballot. The first ballot resulted: Brice, 29; Thomas, 11; McMahon, 14; Baker. 6; Hunt, 3; Neal, 3; Seney, 2; McSweeney, 4; Geddes, 2; Outhwaite, 1. After the second call of the roll had begun asnatacilnrcoran-withdraw' the name of Hunt, and was about to make a speech when Us was closed out under the rules, and voted for Brice. The changes came rapidly after this, the Senate showing thirteen votes for Brice. The second ballot resulted: Brice, 53; Thomas, 3; McMahon, 13; Baker, 1; Soney, 2; Outhwaite, 1. Mr. Monnect, on behalf of Mr. Thomas, moved that the nominal Lon be made unani-. mous, which was agreed to with a whirl and much enthusiasm. A committee wue appointed to brings Mr. Brice before the caucus. His speech was brief, but out lined to the free satisfaction of the caucus the policy he would pursue.
