A TRAGEDY NEAR SAN PIERRE.

A Quarrel Between Neighbors Results in a Murder and a SuicideA terrible affair took place on Tuesday of last week, in Starke county, near the neighboring village., of San Pierre. The various accounts of the affair that have been published are very contradictory in regard to the details, but the main facts are about as here stated: Frank Hastings and Charley Kuart or Couyart, two German farmers, had long been in a quarrel over a division fence. On Tuesday Gastings went to Kuart’s house and shot Kuart in the breast with a big revolver, and wounded his little boy in the arm. Gastings then walked qway a few steps and shot himself through the head dying instantly. Kuart died the day follOwingtheshooting. The little boy ’s injuries are not dangerous. The shooting of the little boy was probably unintentional,’ although according to some accounts, Gastings tried to shoot not only the child but also its mother. Both the dead men are said to have been in pretty fair circumatances and leave large families.
