HIS REVENGE ON THE TOWN.
A North Carolina Village Practically Killed by a Queer Will. At Spartansburg, N, C„ a queer will, savoring strongly of revenge, being that of the last of the Wakefield brothers, has been probated. The Wakefields were rich bachelors and gave to tbe town ihe-land on which the Retdville high school stands. Because the town did not name the school after them they became angary at the authorities';" One of the brothers died, leaving his property to the other. He died ten dayß ago, leaving 5,000 ncres of land surrounding the town to his sister during her life. At her death it goes in trust for ninety-nine years to the probate judge of this county. At the expiration of that time it goes to the heirs. The effect of the will is to kill the town, because it can not get land on'which to build for more than 100 years. ■ ' , ',-
