BOARD OF EQUALIZATION.

The County Board of Equalization met in the court house, last Monday, as by law required. The members of the Board present were C’ommissione rs Querry and Taber, and Messrs. Wm. Essen, D. B. Nowelsand Nelsonßandle. Absent, Commissioner Watson and Mr. S. J. Bentley. Michael J. Costello, of Remington, asked that his personal property a»- ! sessment be reduced from $10,360 as ! returned by the assessor, to ! The Board granted the petition to ' the extent of reducing the assessment to $2,630. The Citizens’ State Bink, of Rensselaer, asked that their assessment be , reduced from $30,000 to $21,000, | but the Board decided uot to make ; any change in the assessment Mary J. Brennan, of Remington, I wanted a change made in the assessi ment of her additional improvements, but this application also was decided adversely.
