J. W. Adkins has been appointed postmaster at Tefft, to succeed C. C. Jones. Mr. Henry, who has recently moved to this vicinity from Clinton connty, has rented the Woods farm. d Miss Tillie Paulson has gope to Chicago, to spend the summer with friends. The graduating exercises a South Grade, May 3, was largely attended. The graduates acquitted themselves very creditably. They were four id number: Allie Bentley, Nellie Dahncke aud Alonso Cooper, of Kankakee, and Hancena Gilbransou, of Walker. Oar able and efficien County Superintendent was present and conducted

the exercises.
