New Officers ot The Motion

The annual meeting of the stockholders of the Louisville*, New Albany &■ Chicago Railroad Company was held in New York last Wednesday. The report of President Win. Dowd, shows gross earning, $2,202,782; operating expenses, $1,424,676; fixeck-chargeST $864333. The following directors were elected to serve for the ensuing year: John J. Astor, Samuel Sloan, R. G. Ralston, James Roosevelt, W. Dowd, E. Root, H. H Cook, B. Erhardt, of New York; G; F. Postlethwaite,| of London, Eng.; R. R. Hitt, G. RCummings and J. B. Carson, of Illinois, and J. M. Fetter, of Kentucky. A meeting of the directors held in the afternoon and the following officers were elected: Wm. Dowd, president; J. B. Carson, vice-president and general manager; NV. H. Lewis, secretary and treasurer; Wm. Dulles, jr., assistant secretary and assistsqt t Executive committee: Messrs. Dowd, Astor, Sloan, Ralston, Hitt and Roosevelt.
