A cable from London, on the 7th, says: The steamship Glencoe was sunk in a collision with the bark Largo Bay, off Beachy Head. The Glencoe had a crew of 54, all of whom perished. A mob of unemployed men went about the streets of Rome, Friday, doing much damage to property. Thirty persons, mostly policemen, were injured in the riot, whjch was finally suppressed. An immense gas well has been discovered at Kingsville, Ont., with a daily discharge of over 6,000,000 feet. The well is largely owned by Detroit capitalists and is less than twenty-five miles from that city. Thousands of people attended the Hods Park demonstration in London, to protest against the Governor’s coercive measures in Ireland, and express sympathy with Wiliam O’Brien. There was speaking from twelve stands. The Theatre Royal at Aidershot, England was burned to the ground Friday night, a performance was in progress when the fire broke out and the audience became panic-stricken, and a mad rush fnr the doors ensued.
