Almost a Fire.
Frank B. Meyer, the druggist, had smother hairbreadth escape from the loss of his store by fire, Tuesday evening. This time the fire started in a pile of old papers, on a show case, in the second story, and, presumably, from a light carried there by George Morgan, who found the- article he looked for, and at once went down stairs. The fire was discovered by the roaring it made, and was extinguished by a couple of buckets of water, and without any damage worth mentioning, further than the breaking of the show case and the destruction of ft pair of rubber hunting boots. ' The room was full of papers, boxes, barrels and other highly inflammable materials and with a very few minutes more time for headway, the fire would have been beyond control and the destruction of the store and probably of much adjoining property, would have been inevitable. This is the third close call for a burnout, experienced by Mr, Meyer during the last year or two.
