DeMOTTE ITEMS. Hay hauling and pressing keeps every one busy. Mrs. A. Halleck peparted Monday to visit friends and relatives at Ft Wayne. W. C. Tyler is now employed as book keeper for the firm of Halleck Bros. ■ . Bra Sites of the Garrett Biblical Institute at "Evanston, Hl., preached at our school house Saturday and Sunday evenings.

Mrs. T. A. Antrim whose sickness was mentioned in last issue died at the home of her daughter, at 4 o’clock p. m. Monday last The remains were interred in the DeMotte cemetery. The funeral services of the late Alexander L. McDonald were conducted under the auspices of the Rose Lawn and DeMotte Posts G. A. R. Rev. Ball of Rose Lawn preached the funeral sermon at the school house. The remains were taken to the DeMotte cemetery and laid to rest in the city of the dead. The procession was a large one, and yet among them all not one was a relative of the deceased. Mrs. Daniel O’Donnel has been confined to her bed for the past week, with a spinal disorder, but we are glad to learn at this writing that she is convalescent. DeMotte now has a flourishing Literary society. Yes, of course, we will have a Christmas tree. Gim.
