Commissioners Proceedings.

FIRST DAY, Preston M. Querry presented his certificate showing that he was the legally elected Commissioner for- the First Commissioners’ District and was duly qualified as a member of the Board. In the same manner Oliver P. Taber was duly qualified a Commissioner a Commissioner for the Third District. Both these terms to be for three years, beginning Dec. 3,1888. Hon. 0. P. Taber was chosen president of the Board. E. 0. Green, Lorenze Hildebrand, Geo. A. Strickfaden and M. O. Halloran, of Rensselaer, and Boleslaw P, Dlujak, of Remington, were all granted saloon licenses for the period of one year. The taxes of Mrs. Jennie Hawkins of Rensselaer, and of Peter Carmada, of Remington, were remitted. The official bond of James F. Antrim, as recorder of Jasper county, was approved. It is in the sum of s2,ooQ_and W. B. Austin, Win. Greenfield and M. L. Spitler are the sureties. His term is for four years, beginning Nov. 17, 1888. Twenty claims against the county were disposed of. All allowed in full except that of John Shortfridge, to have poll tax in Keener township refunded, which was dismissed. SECOND DAY. On petition of Fleming Phillips and others,ntyvas ordered thst the running at large of all live stock in Hanging Grove township is hereafter prohibited, until further orders by the Board. Forty claims were disposed of. ' All allowed in full except as follows: Claim of C.’ G. Sears for relief of poor of 'Hanging Grove township for 821.50 which was-al-lowed at 815.50. T. P. Wright, sll, for relief of poor of Manon tp., continued to March term; $8 for relief of poor of Barkley tp., dismissed. Jordan Township, $9 for filling bridge abutments, dismissed.
