Death of Recorder Antrim.

It is our painful duty to announce the death: of Dr. Thomas Antrim, the venerable Recorder of Jasper county. This but not unlooked for event occured at about 11 o’clock p. m., of last Tuesday. The doctor had reached the 75th year of a well spent life. The funeoal will fee held today, at the residence, at llo’clock> a. m. ■ Thirty acres of land m Jordantownship, the property of Jasper county, were sold at public sale, last Saturday; by the County Auditor, in accordance with the order of the Commissioners’ Court and with the requirements of law. J. C. F. Dutton was. the purchaser, and the price paid was $330, a fair Value for the land. Theie were two other bidders competing wit|i Mr. Dutton. Hemphill & Honan are divided in politics, but they are undivided in their anxiety to have your trade in boots, shoes, millinery and notions.
