BAD RAILROAD WRECKS.
more & Ohio was wrecked hear Washington, Pa., Friday morning. The accident was caused by the train running into an open switch. The train was completely wrecked. The engineer, fireman and two others were killed and fifteen injured. Among the seriously injured were Stephen Collins, Superintendent of the Pittsburg postoffice, and Captain Batchelor, also of Pittsburg. A heavily loaded freight train on the Chicago, St. Paul A Kansas City Road, broke in two near Preeport,liL,Thurs-” day. An extra, which was following close behind, struck the caboose of the regular, causing a bad wreck. Six men were in the caboose, three of whom Werekiiled. They wereT John ' Brown, a stock man of St. Paul; James Orr, of Larrimer, Minn., and Edward Hickey, of Fairbanks, Minn. The train men all escaped. Through £. mistake in orders, two trains collied on the Cumberlard Valley instantly killing Charles Betner, a bag-gage-master, dangerously injuring both conductors and severely wounding a number of passengers.
