School opened Monday, October 8, and is in good working order, with Miss Dorothea Goetz as teacher. Mr. Nichols shipped a car load of hogs from Surrey last week. J, E. Alter, of Union, has organized a singing school with a membership of 30 pupils. Henry I. Adams spoke on the Prohibition question last week. Miss Dema Hopkins is going to teach school in Nawton county this winter. Mrs. H. T. Thornton started for Greensburg, Kans., last Tuesday morning, to visit her daughter, Mrs. G. L. Thornton. Mr. and Mrs. G. R. Thornton, who have been visiting their children in Greensburg, Kans., returned last Wednesday night, much pleased; with the oountry. They brought with them a large watermelon weighing about ninety pounds. Innocence at Large.
