NEVER A BETTER,
Teacher*’ Institute Held In the Count)’. The annual Jasper county teachers’ IflfafituteTs now in session, in the public school building, and it is not too much to say that a better institute was never field in the county. The teachers of the county, present and prospective, are present, almost without exception. The number enrolled the first session was 120, which had increased to 138 by Tuesday morning. They are nearly all earnest and progressive young people, who take an intelligent and profitable interest in all the work of the Institute. ,
The Instructors > and lecturers, regular and occasional, are as good as the Mate can furnish. Profs. W. J. Bryan, of the State University, F. W. Reubelt, superintendent of the Rensselaer schools and A. Lam Moore, of Crawfordsville, are the instructors. President H. B. Brown, of Valparaiso Normal, and Prof. E. Smith, formerly of Purdue, lectured to the institute Monday* and Monday evening Prof. Smith lectured in the court house on the subject, “Character Building,” The lecture was one wliich it was a rare privilege to hear. Tuesday eyening Prof. Bryan lectured on the subject “A Theory of Life.” It was a grand lecture.
