THE MILLS BILL PASSED.
There was a great crowd in the galleries of the House, Saturday, and the excitement incident on the final action on the Mills bill was great. Chairman ]J£jil§jnade a last appeal in behalf of the bill. The vote was then taken resulting in the passage of the measure by Ayes 162, nays 149. The following pairs were announced: In favor of the bill-jr-Messrs. Hogg, Whiting of Michigan, Belmont, Perry, Glover and Granger. Against the bill—Messrs. Randall, Hiestand, Davenport, Spooner, Browne of Indiana and Woodburn. The bill was passed by a strict paVtv vote except that two Republicans voted for the bill and three Democrats against it.
