THE OREGON ELECTION.

The election in Oregon for State officers, Legislature and a member of Congress occurred on the sth. The campaign was made on National issues. Returns fom all parts of the State accessible by telegraph, indicate that Hermann, (Rep.) for Congress, has 7,000 majourity. The majority in Multnomah county which includes Pertland, is 2,900. The Prohibition vote is very small. The Republicans made gains in every county, in the State. The Democrats carried only tw’o counties in the western half of the State. It is the largest Republican majority since the close of the war, and is astonishing alike to Republicans and Democrats. Still more surprising a result is in the returns for members of the Legislature. There are ninety members in both houses. Of these the Republicans will have about seventy and the Democrats about twenty. '
