FASHION NOTES.
New York Commercial Advertiser. Amber reappears, and is cut in all manner of shape. A black pearl bee,with diamond wings, is a new brooch, simply ravishing. A Tam o’ Shunter of colored gold, with plume of precious stones, is the verylatest in brooches. Daisy buttons exactly simulating the small English natural flowers, are seen upon many imported gowns. J Green in all shades, from apple to olive. is a favorite hue for the trimming of black straw or Neapolitan hats. Erne Aldan braid is a favorite material for spring bonnets, with split English straw and French chips a double good second. Old-fashioned lace mits reappear for wear witlTempire gowns, and are differentiated only by jet embroidery of the backs. A moonstone spider, with gold legs, crawling up a gold needle to a moonstone globe, is the pattern of a very new hat pin. The capofe and small Nanon are the sliapes oftenest chosen by- good dressers of middle age, though by no means confined to them. Bead capes in two colors —as bine and steel, gold and copper —are no end stylish, but to the carnal mind not particularly handsome. ® Lustrous silk grenadines, with ribbonlike taffeta stripes, with a hair line of white at the edge, are often chosen for half mourning. Black toilets still lead all others, and for evening gold-embroidered black silk, combined with gold-colored moire, is the acme of elegance. ! The latest London fad is to wear about the neck a lace scarf so. long that the ends barely miss being trodden on when the wearer walks.
Fine nainsook is chosen for summer underw ear, and Valenciennes lace is its favorite trimming, if you can afford to pay SIOO per yard. What next? Turkey- red cotton lias -been used fora"bonnet in London, and a fair Parisian has dared -to wear, a hat dined with pink flannel. Pretty gowns for misses are of w hite striped with gt 44 galloon, or w hite cashmere, striped, with velvet in blue, brow n or scarlet.
