Latest From the Gas Field.

FrancesvilleNew lira. The New Era is again called upon to record the failure of a search info Trenton and it is with much regret that we do so. The Union Co. completed their well Monday, that they had been at work on for the past month or more and the result is another inexhaustible water well. It was abandoned at a depth of 921 feet. .This well, on the Bueklen or old Blair farm, is situated just 1)90 feet north of the old gas and water well making 500 -feel-from the gas well that is situated on a direct line between them, and this proves that the “dead-line” is some point within the 200 feet. In . this last well Trenton was reached at 897 feet and* salt water 15 feet farther. This makes the third weM this company has drilled with the result of one paying well, yet they are far from letting the matter rest end will begin < n a new hole a 3 soon as Robinson, the contractor, can move the machinery. Mr. Bueklen was here yesterday and Mr. W. R. Jones, informs us that the next well has been located 450 feet due west of the old gas and water well. Forty days more and its result will be recorded.
