Third Ballot—Zimmerman 34, Brown 18, Pansier 6, Wood 28. Fourth ballot—Zimmerman 29, Brown 22; Wood 35. Fifth ballot—Zimmerman 44; Wood 42. Mr. Zimmerman, the nominee, is a German by nationality; He represented and Marshall counties in the last State Senate. He is an agricultural implement dealer and an- undertaker, by vocation, In the last named capacity he will probably bury his own po-_ litical corpse, in good shape, next November. He is a comparatively unknown man, in the district, but the presumption that he is-’pretty small potatoes dis justifiable, in view of the fact that the convention found so little to choose between him and Tom Wood. But he is good enough for the use he will be put to, anyhow. ‘ ' 0 Lime for sale, by th&,new lumber firm, Wolf & Co.
