The Citizens State Bank.
The Citizens Bank of this place has been changed from a private Bank to a State Bank with a capital of $30,000. The law under which it is organized is almost,a copy of the National backing law, but instead ol bei.ig examined by a National bank examiner,, it is exam- ■ ined by a person appointed by the Governor and Auditor of State, The examinations are very rigid and carefully made. This state banking law has been in force since Ibi 2, and although a large number of banks havq been organized and are now operating under its provisions, there Las never been a. failure in the state of any bank organiz ed under it. By the provisions o r fnis law all state banks in this state a e compelled to make, publish and forward with proof of publication five rep »rts in each year to the Auditor of State. T.ie Auditor also has the ppwer to call for additional reports and make as many examinations of any banking institution operated under this state law as he deems proper.
