Pies and Dyspepsia.

run »uu Cultivator. Medical statistics indicate a great increase in dyspepsia in this country during the last year or two. Some people may attribute the increase to tbe quantity of pies still in use. One Philadelphia pie factory makes 31,000 pies per week, or 1,588,500 pies for the entire year. Seme idea of this extent of pie may be found in the calculation- that if the big and little pies shonld all be [riled in one colemn, they would form a solid ■haft of pie more than half a mile high; if laid Bide by side, the line would extend over 1,541 miles. The weight ia 16,060 tons a year. Froip this basis it will be easy to calculate the ratio of pie to the incresss of dyspepsia.
